Hello! I'm Chaliana

 

Currently a Software Engineering Undergraduate Student at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez. I'm looking for experiences in the industry of Software Engineering that will help me grow as a professional and expand my skill set to solve problems through the design and creation of Software Applications. I have worked in the areas of Video Game Development, Simulation, Mobile and Desktop Application Development. 

When I finish my studies I want to work in the Video Game development industry and later work on my own independent games writing my own stories. My hobbies include Creative Writing, watching Movies, playing Video Games, and learning new programming skills.

Created #C script to format task information into JSON message, and script that parses action messages in JSON format from the boat's Ai to Unity. Created a graphical user interface to establish bridge between Robot Operative System and Unity Game Engine Created competition task objects to scale in Unity.

Contributed in the development of an inventory reduction tool that aims to reduce inventory costs by $500k. Designed and created Graphical User Interfaces using JavaFX. Created and managed databases for applications using MySQL and Microsoft's SQL Server. Worked on the application's back-end using Java.

Contributed in the development of an educational video game aimed for middle and high school students, to teach them concepts of nanotechnology. Designed, implemented, and debugged aspects corresponding to the interactive menu and video game levels using Unity Game Engine and C#. Co-author of a peer-reviewed paper, titled Educational Nanotechnology Video Game to inspire Middle and High School Students to Pursue STEM Related Professional Careers, at the IEEE Frontiers in Education 2018 Conference.

Participated in a three-week training of iOS mobile development by CodePath. Developed multiple mobile applications using Objective-C through XCode. Contributed in the design and development of an application called Shelfie that lets its users trade, sell, or gift, books. Developed, using the Facebook SDK, the login method, the User Model and sharing through Messenger and Facebook.
